What To Expect
Moving Forward With Confidence Is As Easy As 1, 2, 3!
PBO Baby’s caring staff understands the worry that comes with concerns about your baby’s head shape and skull development. Rather than taking a “wait and see” approach, we move quickly to assess your baby’s skull, answer your questions, and determine if any next steps are needed.
The PBO Baby Building Blocks
Book a Complimentary PBO Baby Assessment
Because a baby’s skull develops so quickly, getting an assessment early is important.
All PBO Baby initial assessments are free of charge and do not require a doctor’s referral.
Meet With Your PBO Baby Certified Clinician
Your PBO Baby Certified Clinician will complete a standard physical assessment and take a digital image of your baby’s head using a 3D scanner.
The scanner is harmless and uses light to take pictures of your baby’s skull. This incredibly accurate scan provides precise measurements that allow our experts to determine if there are any issues related to the head’s shape.
Follow Your Customized PBO Baby Care Plan
Once the assessment is complete, your Certified Clinician will determine if further treatment is required and, if so, develop and explain your baby’s customized Cranial Infant Remolding Care plan.
This plan could range from simple exercises you can do at home to a customized helmet that your baby will wear for typically between nine and 16 weeks.
What if my baby requires a helmet?
Should your baby require a helmet, the precise measurements taken during your baby’s 3D head scan will be used to create a custom helmet to reflect your baby’s unique needs.
You’ll be given a choice of helmet colours, and if you wish, you can even add graphic elements to the helmet for added style, personalization and fun. Then, we’ll get to work creating your baby’s custom helmet in our own state-of-the-art production facility.
Then what?
Approximately 1 week after your baby’s scanning appointment, you’ll return to the clinic for the initial helmet fitting. After ensuring the helmet is a perfect fit, your PBO Baby Clinician will guide you through some helpful tips, tricks, and exercises to help make the transition easier.
You’ll be booked in for a regular series of follow-up appointments that will last anywhere between 9 and 16 weeks. Should you ever have any questions or concerns between appointments, the PBO Baby team is just a quick phone call or email away, and you can always return for an in-person appointment as well.
